The feast of excess, the Feast of Bacchus
Awakening Narnia With Bacchanalian Feast What clues might they pick up from this next statement? "[The trees] seemed to be the friendly, lovely giant and giantess forms, which the tree-people put on when some good magic has called them into full life...."[1,p.259] From a Christian perspective the word "good" is misleading, but not surprising. God's people have been twisting His truth since the beginning of time. That's why God warned us in Isaiah 5:20: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil."
A Gorbal warming Robinhood
Al Gorebal's , spectacular hypocrisy The new gospel has its own initial Eden, Crichton told them, the unspoiled paradise of our aboriginal ancestors. It has its own tree of knowledge, modern technology, whose fruit has led to pollution and decay. It has its own day of judgment and any number of doomsday scenarios that are hastening us there. Eternal damnation awaits us, said Crichton, and then like any storefront preacher worth the rent money, he held out the great "unless," the "unless" dearest to all their Bay Area hearts, "unless we seek salvation, which is now called 'sustainability.'"
Contrary to the regime’s outrageous claim that it strives to restore a democratic nation, several protesters were killed in an open fire by police authorities.
Politicizing the Tragedy in Burma From the administration that used the 9/11 tragedy to violently pursue an unrelated vendetta against Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, we get Round Two. After a cyclone devastated portions of Burma (which the despotic Burmese government has renamed Myanmar) and killed an estimated 100,000 people, instead of concentrating on providing relief, the Bush administration couldn’t resist scoring points on First Lady Laura Bush’s pet issue—the tyranny of the Burmese military junta.
Sharp as ever
Democrats' hybrid pickup trucks The phony blue-collar Democrats won their elections by driving around in pickup trucks and shooting guns, then moved to Washington and began voting against war in Iraq and in favor of taxpayer-funded abortions. One of the Democrats' paragons of regular guy-ness that year was Jon Tester of Montana, who wore cowboy boots and had a buzz cut. The crew cut absolutely transfixed liberals in places like Manhattan. Search "Jon Tester and crew cut" on Google, and you'll get more than 200,000 hits.

We have asked Al Gore for dinner

Obama no regard for women - 'sweetie' Reporters on the presidential campaign trail are buzzing about Barack Obama calling WXYZ's Peggy Agar "sweetie" during a tour Wednesday of a Chrysler plant in Sterling Heights.
The comment came during a tour of the plant when the Democratic presidential candidate tried to brush off a question from Agar about help for autoworkers. "Senator, how are you going to help the American autoworkers," Agar asked Obama.

Big government's grand delusions .....delusions require of us a greater commitment: the willing and active suspension of disbelief. They must be "surrendered to and accepted by the whole mind as a truth." Why? For only in the midst of such surrender can they be acted upon with sufficient zeal to assure success. And only with success can disaster be assured.

Man murders entire family with ax Police said that the suspect claimed he had murdered his entire family to spare them from disgrace. “He claims to have borrowed a six-figure sum from someone from the family but then lost it in failed investments,” a police spokesman said. “According to him, the motive for the gruesome murders was to spare his family from the shame of finding out that he become financially ruined.”
B-.052? Swiss professional pilot Yves Rossy, the world's first man to fly with fitted jet-fuel powered wings strapped to his back
'Rocket man' soars high above Alps Rossy, 48, had stepped out of the Swiss-built Pilatus Porter aircraft at 7,500 feet and unfolded the rigid eight-foot wings strapped to his back before jumping. Passing from free fall to a gentle glide, Rossy then triggered four jet turbines and accelerated to 186 miles per hour, about 65 miles per hour faster than the typical falling skydiver. A plane that flew at some distance beside him measured his speed.
The crowd on the mountaintop below gasped and cheered.
...Little, Oh Mr. Chicken Little
Earth at dusk ....
"if humanity wishes to preserve a planet similar to that on which civilization developed and to which life on earth is adapted, paleoclimate evidence and ongoing climate change suggest that CO2 will need to be reduced from its current 385 ppm to at most 350 ppm." Hansen cites six irreversible tipping points--massive sea level rise and huge changes in rainfall patterns, among them--that we'll pass if we don't get back down to 350 soon; and the first of them, judging by last summer's insane melt of Arctic ice, may already be behind us.
...will trade for more nuke plants thank you
Climate-control absurdity! So how would Lieberman-Warner affect our economy? Start with something we can all relate to: personal income. Under the bill, income in the U.S. would drop significantly, starting in 2012, from a decline of more than $30 billion that year to $121.9 billion in 2016. Or, to put it another way: All other things being equal, by 2016, the annual household income for a family of four would fall by $1,494 – about what that family pays now for two months of food. Gross domestic product would start to take a nosedive in 2012 as well. By 2030, GDP would be $436 billion less than it would be if the bill hadn't become law.

Britain releases batch of files on UFO's "Everyone became aware that the object was unidentified," their report said. "SATCO (code name for a controller with 14 years experience) reports that the object came in 'at speed,' made a touch and go on runway 27, then departed at 'terrific speed' in a 'near vertical' climb."
