The name is very interesting. Cordoba (Qurtuba) is the name of a city in Spain which was captured by the muslims in 700AD. They turned it into a regional capital to rule over the Spanish province. It is standard practice for muslims to destroy prominent landmarks of defeated opponents and then build over them with their own buildings. The Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem is an example of this. With all the delays in building the freedom towers, I wonder if there are any major players in the delay.
It is part of the Islamic doctrine of erasing the past of a defeated opponent and rewriting the history of an area. I donft remember the Arabic name, but they refer to the time before Islam (a land that has yet to be conquered and converted) as a time of darkness and the time after an area has been converted as a time of light. This is why Kafiristan (Land of the infidels) was conquered and renamed Nuristan (Land of the light) If we keep allowing these things to happen, we shall all become Dhimmis of our own making. Comment
