I maintain that our primary concern and support for Israel should be based on our Judaism. And this is most certainly not something to be excused. Specifically, authentic Judaism is based on the Torah upon which we are to be a light unto the nations. To deny this reality is to deny our covenant with G-d and to deny our purpose. Moreover, history shows that such denial does not perpetuate the survival of the Jewish people. In essence, while there certainly can be other reasons to support Israel, our primary reason should rest in a belief in the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Government officials and Jewish leaders are concerned that the conflict in Gaza may spill over into violence in Europe, with attacks reported against Jews and synagogues in France, Sweden, and Britain. Assailants rammed a burning car into the gates of a synagogue in Toulouse, in southwest France, Monday night. A Jewish congregation in Helsingborg, in southern Sweden, was attacked Monday night. Obviously, the terrorists aren't particularly afraid of the consequences. Europe needs to make them afraid.

You might have the makings of a Texan if: It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, "One nation, under God." You've never protested about seeing the Ten Commandments posted in public places. You still say "Christmas" instead of "Winter Festival" or "Happy Holidays." You bow your head when someone prays. You stand and place your hand over your heart when they play the Texas State Anthem. You treat all vets with great respect, and always have. You've never burned the Lone Star flag. You know what you believe and you aren't afraid to say so, no matter who is listening.

'There is an agenda that is being kept from the American public'
Obama's birth certificate issue is being ignored by the courts, and by Bush. Nobody in power is willing to just ask for the proof. Why is Obama fighting the release of it? I don't think it takes a wizard to figure out that he is hiding something, and that the various branches of government that are looking the other way are complicit in this.

Liberals are from Mars, Venus and other strange places

Global warming and disappearing polar bears...Oh My!

Daily News Magazine I Contact
''Deciphering spin, with spin of our own''

Thursday, June 05, 2008

Liberals are from Mars, Venus and other strange places
You selected, not elected President Obama After nearly eight years of having to listen to liberals crow that Bush was "selected, not elected," this is a shocking about-face. Apparently unaware of the new party line that the popular vote amounts to nothing more than warm spit, just last week HBO ran its movie "Recount," about the 2000 Florida election, the premise of which is that sneaky Republicans stole the presidency from popular vote champion Al Gore. (Despite massive publicity, the movie bombed, with only about 1 million viewers, so now HBO is demanding a "recount.")

So now I have hurt the feelings of some pastors...
Thumb Suckers Tell the sheep to grow up. It’s Scriptural, you know? Sorry, I have no sympathy for men who want to wipe noses for a living. That’s what women are for. (Sorry, had to say it!) You won’t be nearly as stressed if you fight over Truth rather than over the color of the carpet in the sanctuary. The enemies of Christianity are training their sons to be warriors while Christians teach our sons how to get in touch with their feelings. They are learning to cut our throat as we learn to turn our cheek. One of those pompous fellows sent me an email telling me that “It is fanatics like you that give Christians a bad name.” (I fought off the urge to say “go suck your thumb, you Pharisee.”) But he nailed the problem. Too many shepherds ARE more worried about how Christians LOOK rather than defending the Truth.

"Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"
Obama's skin color Obama – bright, sharp, a solid speaker – ran an incredible, come-from-nowhere campaign to topple a front-runner who, at one time, led by some 30 points. But as Obama once said in criticizing his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the caller acts as if America, as regards race, were "static."

Who gets to mow the lawn Bruce?
California's Mad magazine marriage   I'm going to dispense with the subtleties and point out what most are thinking but won't say for fear of the inevitable "progressive" backlash (shhhh …they're everywhere): So-called "same-sex marrage" is a counterfeit. If marriage is a Rembrandt, then the ridiculous and oxymoronic notion of "gay marriage" is a Rembrandt knock-off from the pages of Mad magazine. It's a silly novelty.

Is her goose finally cooked
or will this Clintoon find some new way to torment us?

What do brain surgeons know about cellphone safety that the rest of us don't?
Scientists revive debate on cellphones Along with Senator Edward Kennedy's recent diagnosis of a glioma, a type of tumor that critics have long associated with cellphone use, the doctors' remarks have helped reignite a long-simmering debate about cellphones and cancer.

Many humans call the earthly city of Jerusalem "the holy city," but God calls it "Sodom and Egypt." Why? B. Hussein knows.

Got off too lightly
10 states act to stop teacher sex abuse  "Too often in the past, we as adults have failed our children," Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear said when he signed a new law last month. "Today with this legislation, hopefully, we begin earning back their trust." The measure passed without a single no vote. Kentucky lawmakers originally drafted a measure aimed at abusive teachers, with the final legislation written broadly to encompass priests, teachers and anyone in authority over someone younger than 18.

You should know that the pill can kill 5- to 9-day-old babies
June 7: The Pill Kills Day Did you know the birth control pill can cause chemical abortions? No, probably not, unless you're a radical pro-lifer like me, or a radical pro-abort. We all know. But radical pro-aborts don't want you to know. And they call us the Neanderthals. If women knew, some would feel morally obligated to refuse that contraceptive option. And that would mess up lucrative birth control pill sales, which nets pro-aborts hundreds of millions of dollars a year, as well as abortion sales from failed birth control pills.

Environuts pay double?
Just one reason for high gas prices  An average of 4,500 construction jobs would be required over four years. With the refinery up and running, Hyperion pledges to create 1,826 full-time jobs at hourly wages of between $20 and $30. Opponents argued the massive development would not be worth the pollution and other troubles they claimed the refinery would bring. The health risks traditionally associated with a refinery weighed heavily on the minds of some voters.

America the anti-PETA, anti-Christ Babylon
Shame: Talking to Iran's Hitler Nothing could be more disastrous for the United States and the Iranian people than a war between the two countries. However, by negotiating now, not only we will not avoid a military conflict, but we increase its chances tenfold. (Almost 13 years before Iran committed its terrorist act of war against America at Khobar, it used its surrogates, the Lebanese Hezbollah, to murder 241 Marines in their Beirut barracks. The U.S. response to that 1983 outrage was to pull our military forces out of the region. Such timidity was not lost upon Tehran.)

Engines of destruction whine(liberal lumpers)
Our Troubled Planet Home As we face our demons and our symptoms in 21st century America, it’s not about space, but ‘carrying capacity’. Why can’t Australia sustain 300 or 500 million people instead of their 20 million today? Simple! They feature 95 percent desert, which means they do not possess enough water to feed, clothe and house more than 20 million people.

The execution of free speech
Priest investigated for quoting Bible  Vere's warnings were followed by one from Grace Harman, who noted on the website's forum: "It would appear that Canadian law is discriminating against people on the basis of their religious faith, or perhaps discriminating against God himself, who gave us the laws of nature and purpose of life."...Also, California has set in state law a ban on introducing anything but "positive" information about alternative sexual lifestyles, including homosexuality, in its public school.

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
Another sociopathic Clintoon If she is allowed to get away with it, we have to rewrite the book on what lying tells us about people. We have to allow job applicants to lie in their resumes as a matter of course. It should not be considered a sign of dishonesty. It should not be considered an indication of insecurity. It should not be considered an ominous suggestion of sociopathic behavior. I'm not willing to allow Hillary to get away with that. Are you?

Zoom, zoom, zoo-m - pork scratchings anyone?
'Human-animal embryos exist'  Admixed embryos are widely supported by scientists and patient groups as they provide an opportunity to produce powerful stem-cell models for investigating diseases such as Parkinson’s and diabetes, and for developing new drugs. Their creation, however, has been opposed by some religious groups, particularly the Roman Catholic Church.

A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil...
Oil companies: Don't blame us folks "Our earnings, although high in absolute terms, need to be viewed in the context of the scale and cyclical, long-term nature of our industry as well as the huge investment requirements," said J.S. Simon, senior vice president of Exxon Mobil Corp., which made a record $40 billion last year. "We depend on high earnings during the up cycle to sustain ... investment over the long term, including the down cycles," he continued.

    Perception
Belief in God on trial  Twelve of the 13 original colonies adopted the entire Ten Commandments into their civil and criminal laws in various forms. The Bible has accompanied courtroom oaths from their inception in America. One reason juries have historically consisted of 12 members is because there were twelve tribes of Israel and twelve apostles of Christ. As the Supreme Court  noted in 1952 in Zorach v. Clausen, "We are a religious people whose institutions presuppose a Supreme Being."

It shrinks my liver, doesn't it, Nat? It pickles my kidneys, yeah. But what it does to the mind? It tosses the sandbags overboard so the balloon can soar. Suddenly I'm above the ordinary. I'm competent. I'm walking a tightrope over Niagara Falls. I'm one of the great ones. I'm Michaelangelo, molding the beard of Moses. I'm Van Gogh painting pure sunlight...
Loving that Demon  Entering the front door of his plush suburban home, the well-dressed businessman drops his briefcase at the foot of the stairs that wind elegantly up from the foyer. Graying at the temples, he appears handsomely distinguished and successful. The strain of a heavy day lines his face. "I'm home," he calls. Instantly the perfect mate for Mr. Success appears and is lovingly welcomed into his waiting arms. "You're tired, darling," she sympathizes, gently slipping out of his embrace. "I’ll fix you a drink."

Lebensunwertes Leben, playing God without a full deck
A debate-phobic Darwinian establishment  Expelled's showing of the connection between evolutionary doctrine and Nazi eugenics has already infuriated some in academia and the media: University of Minnesota professor P.Z. Myers blasted Expelled as "ludicrous in its dishonesty," and Orlando Sentinel reviewer Roger Moore raged about "loaded images, loaded rhetoric." But since a movie is not a dissertation, films show linkages by juxtaposing clips rather than pages of footnoted type. The real question is: Did Darwinism bulwark Hitlerian hatred by providing a scientific rationale for killing those considered less fit in the struggle for survival?

    'Liberal' talk-radio station goes Gospel
The Atlanta-based talk show host, whose show has been carried daily on the station, says he first heard about the switch earlier this week via his boss, Nova M Radio CEO John Manzo. Manzo, on the phone from Phoenix, also confirms the switch. The reason? Economics. "They don't have the revenue to support the format," Manzo says.

She took the test and failed it, we blamed each other for awhile, all our big plans had no little ones in 'em. We just weren't ready for a child. So we set the alarm for seven. There's a place right down the street, it was a night like any other night, but when I fell asleep. I saw his face he had my eyes, I swear he had your smile, chasen a butterfly, he laughed and skipped and caught it softly placed it in my hands he said please don't kill the butterfly.

The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat
Rat City: Crime's undeclared war  More than a decade ago, minister/pundit Kerby Anderson cited these statistics for crime in America, and most likely they've increased: "In America, the crime clock continues to click: one murder every 22 minutes, one rape every five minutes, one robbery every 49 seconds, and one burglary every 10 seconds. And the cost of crime continues to mount: $78 billion for the criminal justice system, $64 billion for private protection, $202 billion in loss of life and work, $120 billion in crimes against business, $60 billion in stolen goods and fraud, $40 billion from drug abuse, and $110 billion from drunk driving. When you add up all the costs, crime costs Americans a stunning $675 billion each year."
