God, Obama and birth certificates

God, Obama and birth certificates

''On the other hand, Obama's birth less than 50 years ago remains shrouded in mystery.''

What do God and Barack Obama have in common?
Neither one has a birth certificate.
That's one of Rush Limbaugh's favorite jokes.
It's funny. But, as with all humor, it contains only some truth.
Because followers of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach – or Jesus the Christ – know He established Himself as the Messiah of the Jews and the Savior of the world by providing two genealogical records – one going all the way back to Adam and another tracing His kingly lineage back to Abraham. So, even if there were no birth certificates maintained 2,000 years ago in ancient Israel, there is no doubt about where He was born, when and His parentage. Even Jesus recognized those
qualifications were essential to establishing His right to His earthly throne as king of the Jews.
In fact, the first 17 verses of Matthew are devoted to His genealogy – through the line of Mary. The next nine verses, including the first verse of the second chapter, are devoted to the who, what, when, where and why of His
birth
. The rest of the second chapter is devoted to the actions of Joseph and Mary to protecting the young Jesus from efforts to put Him to death.
Now watch the red-hot eligibility story on DVD: "The Question of Eligibility: Is Barack Obama's presidency constitutionally legitimate?"
Likewise, the last 15 verses of the third chapter of Luke are devoted to Jesus' genealogy – this time through the line of Joseph, his adoptive father.
Why all the genealogical details?
They were critical.
Jesus was in a unique position to claim the throne of David because He was a physical descendant through the line of Joseph. Had He been Joseph's blood son, He would have been ineligible because of a blood curse on his ancestor Jeconiah (Jeremiah 22:30). But as Joseph's adoptive son, Jesus was eligible.
Jesus was also eligible through the line of Mary, His biological mother, because she had no brothers and because she married within the tribe of Judah. All these little, nitpicky details had to be established – and they were.

USA: Created by God

American Declaration of Independence by the blessing of God

''Jefferson, along with the vast majority of America's founders, knew that freedom was, first, the gift of God, not the accomplishment of men. He further understood that man's law must be subordinate to the natural laws of God.''

As we approach Independence Day, it behooves us to recall the principles of America's founding, especially in light of the ongoing attempt by today's political and commercial leaders to merge the United States into a hemispheric government. In fact, the clarion call for independence is just as fundamental, just as revolutionary as it was 233 years ago.
Regarding the signing of the Declaration of Independence, John Adams said, "[Independence Day] will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the Day of Deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forevermore."
Adams went on to say, "You will think me transported with enthusiasm, but I am not. I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the gloom I can see the rays of ravishing light and glory; I can see that the end is more than worth all the means, that posterity will triumph in that day's transaction, even though we should rue it, which I trust in God we shall not."
Indeed, the signers of America's Declaration of Independence endured the sacrifice of both toil and blood. Pertaining to the lives of the signers, David Limbaugh writes, "Of those 56 who signed the Declaration of Independence, nine died of wounds or hardships during the war. Five were captured and imprisoned, in each case with brutal treatment. Several lost wives, sons or entire families. One lost his thirteen children. Two wives were brutally treated. All were at one time or another the victims of manhunts and driven from their homes. Twelve signers had their homes completely burned. Seventeen lost everything they owned."
Yes, America's Declaration of Independence, which is our nation's birth certificate, was purchased at a very high price.

America's love of perversion

THE BABE IN THE BUNKER Barbara Simpson

Show biz trifectas

What a pity Ed McMahon, the solid, TV side-kick/funny guy, and Farrah Fawcett, the gorgeous actress with hair, eyes, teeth and red bathing suit  who overcame it to gain plaudits and awards for her acting, died within days of each other and then, Michael Jackson joined them in death the same week.

Guess who gets all the attention?

What a pity since of the three, Jackson, while an immensely talented performer, was the most bizarre example of humanity. He's not exactly the role model parents might desire for their children

Call me old fashioned, but I'd keep my children, male or female, away from a man who regresses into childhood and yet whose music and performances range from bizarre sexuality to crotch-grabbing; uses medical means to change his body to the extent he's barely identifiable by race or even sex; is dependent on pharmaceuticals to get him through the day – every day; produces three children by methods that spin the brain, raises them privately, swathed in masks and scarves (a news report says two of the children do have a known birth mother, the third, "Blanket," born to a surrogate, is now a child without a parent); lives a lavish lifestyle and yet was immersed in gigantic debt, maintained suspicious relationships with young boys to the point of lawsuits, settlements and court proceedings, and yes, I know he was found not guilty but so was O.J. Simpson.

I never considered him a role model. But others do and did – why else would parents let their young boys stay overnight with Jackson? One grieving fan told a reporter, "All of us grew up with Michael; we all love him."

Uh, no. Not all of us.

Another supporter praised Jackson not so much for his music but because "he brought black culture into the mainstream."

Really? Look at my description of Jackson again. Is that black culture? For the sake of blacks, I hope not, because he reflected someone constantly trying to escape the person he was and transform himself into some sort of myth.

How 'Gods' Live and Die

How 'Gods' Live and Die

''If only the world’s star chasers and stargazers would see that there’s real peace and joy in living a quiet life for God. The Bible encourages us to do just that. The view may not be as breathtaking, but we’re a lot less likely to lose our minds in the madness or die from the fall''

I live in an area of the country where a number of celebrities reside. Seeing them in stores, restaurants, churches and in the car next to you is as common here as running into friends or family in a small town. In fact, many celebrities from other parts of the country have moved here to “Music City” and surrounding areas, in part, because we don’t really have paparazzi – at least not yet – and people generally leave them alone.
This allows them to exercise their godhood elsewhere, take their profits and praise from starry-eyed ticket buyers out on the road and return home to a semi state of normalcy – something that is undoubtedly necessary for both sanity and survival.
The sudden and tragic death of Michael Jackson, like many other superstars before him, underscores that need. Unfortunately, like drugs and alcohol, those who become addicted to fame are all too often destroyed by it. And strangely, celebrities themselves, and those around them, can often see it coming, but do little to stop it.
In Michael Jackson’s case, his ex-wife, Lisa Marie Presley, reportedly recalled him saying to her years ago that he expected to meet the same end as her father, Elvis – and that it was Michael’s self-destructive behavior that eventually compelled her to leave him.

The tug of heaven

Ever since childhood, I have loved pretty much all things Disney. Like many of my generation, I was raised on the "Mickey Mouse Club." Then there was the television program, "The Wonderful World of Disney," and, of course, the amazing animated films that inspired me to want to become a graphic artist one day.

In Disney's world, there were both heroes and villains, but good always triumphed, and people always lived "happily ever after." Raised in an alcoholic home where divorce and domestic disturbances happened all too often, my visit to Disneyland each year on my birthday was like entering a dream world. I made a vow back then that when I became an adult, I would go to Disneyland every day. The world of Disney drew me in because it held so much promise.

Walt Disney was born with a vivid imagination, and he dreamed of a better world. He even called his employees "Imagineers." Disney was not only trying to create something like his childhood, but something even better. You might even say that he attempted to create a heaven on earth.

Disney, like all of us, was born with "eternity in his heart," as Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us we are. It is a trait unique to humankind. I doubt that animals sit around pondering the meaning of life, but people do.

We are always moving forward. We are on a quest, because I believe that we all have a sense that we were meant for another world. We long for something more. C.S. Lewis called it "the secret signature of each soul." Yet some think they can create a perfect world for themselves with the perfect home, the perfect family, or even the perfect body. But then tragedy strikes and reality kicks in, reminding us that life on earth will disappoint.

How do you handle life when your problems are bigger than you are? Get Greg's manual for adversity: "Dealing with Giants"

There is age-old truth in the Hank Thompson song that says, "This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through. ..." The Bible says of our lives on earth, "We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace" (1 Chronicles 29:15 NLT).

Just one thing; 3 rules

'The three fundamental Rules of Humanity...One: a human being may not injure another human being, or, through inaction, allow any human being to be injured...Two:..a human being must obey the orders given him by God except...there are no exceptions....Three: a human being must protect his own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First and Second Laws.'' [adapted from Isaac Asimov's Three Fundamental Rules of Robotics]

Divine Engineering

“A peni* and a vagina fit - they are engineered to. Two penises and two vaginas just won't work. Oppositional behavior is an integral part of homosexuality and Satan absolutely delights in this homosexual perversion because it not only exists outside the bounds of marriage, but it also defiles the very image of God, reflected as male and female."

Fear (of God) is our friend

FEAR IS GOOD "However honest you are about your need to plead with me, remember to be careful that such tactics as appealing to fear won't pull in 'false converts.' If I am to believe, then it's the existence and action of God that will save me – not fear."
Not according to the Bible. Let me explain. The use of fear tactics, using computer graphic pictures of New York with water halfway up skyscrapers, and threats that in 30 or 40 years we will be eating each other, etc., may be backfiring on environmentalists who are trying to educate young people about the dangers of global warming. A new telephone survey commissioned by Habitat Heroes and conducted by Opinion Research polled a national sample of 500 American preteens – 250 males and 250 females. According to treehugger.com, "On a sliding scale of anxieties, minority kids have it worst; 75 percent of black children and 65 percent of Hispanic children believe that the planet will be irrevocably damaged by the time they reach adulthood." The threat of global warming just adds to an even more depressing outlook to a generation that is already under a cloud of economic gloom, massive unemployment, terrorism, school shootings and escalating incidents of parents killing their children. Remove God from the equation and you leave a young person with no knowledge of his origins, no purpose for existence and no knowledge of what happens after he dies. So when a problem comes along that seems insurmountable, he doesn't turn to God for help. Instead, he turns to the quick fix of suicide.

We SAY: I am thankful that I have a fear that causes me to put on a parachute before I make a 10,000-foot jump. In such a case, fear is your friend, not your enemy, and the fear of God is the ultimate friend of all who have it.

The real "hate crime"

The underlying issue behind H.R. 1913/S. 909 is simple. Hate crimes legislation, which assigns different levels of punishment for the same crime, is a perversion of equal justice on its face. Compound that injustice by criminalizing the preaching of Scripture as "hate speech" and therefore evil, while protecting unimaginable and abominable sexual behaviors as good, and we are building a perfect storm for national calamity. The problem is not that we do hate, but that we don't hate.
What should we hate? We have clear parameters given to us by God and, simply stated, we are to hate what He hates and love what He loves. What does He hate? One clear list can be found in Proverbs 6:16-19:
Here are six things GOD hates, and one more that he loathes with a passion: eyes that are arrogant, a tongue that lies, hands that murder the innocent, a heart that hatches evil plots, feet that race down a wicked track, a mouth that lies under oath, a troublemaker in the family. (The Message)

I SAY: The Pink Bunny went to happy town and brought back a bag full of delusion.

Going with God: Planet Earth: Too big to fail

The Obama administration has given itself an extraordinarily powerful tool that could help the president achieve all three of his top domestic goals at once--but only if he has the political moxie to deploy it to its full extent.

That tool is the proposed Endangerment Finding--a formal declaration by the Environmental Protection Agency that global warming indeed threatens human health and welfare. Once the administration issues the final declaration, the Clean Air Act is triggered, giving the administration sweeping authority to decide how to reduce global warming pollution from power plants, vehicles, and other sources, how much, and how fast. According to a groundbreaking new analysis from New York University, the administration could even unilaterally establish a cap-and-trade system very similar to what Congress is considering.

Obama's landmark proposal means that the administration no longer has to go through Congress to make the green economy a reality. No horse-trading with hostile Republicans. No need to throw tens of billions of dollars at the oil and coal industries to win the votes of polluter-friendly members of Congress. No need for sixty votes in the Senate (or even, for that matter, fifty). It will be the EPA looking at the science, listening to public comment and deciding how best to protect the planet, public health and the economy.
