Showing Bill Clintion's Shine

Showing Bill Clintion's Shine

We saw a political cartoon of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, the import of which was that Republicans are hypocrites because they excoriated the philandering Bill Clinton.

The leftist syllogism this represents of this runs along these lines:

"Republicans didn't like Clinton's morals. Philandering Mark Sanford is a Republican. Therefore, Republicans are hypocrites."

This passes for logic among eager Democrats, who seem quite comfortable with any pseudo-intellectualism that reinforces their preconceptions, just as they seem comfortable with the corollary that we may posit:

"Many Democrats are reprobates (Bill Clinton, Eliot Spitzer, Antonio Villaraigosa, Gavin Newsome … take your pick). Democrats defend reprobates. Therefore, Democrats are not hypocrites."

They probably would be less comfortable with the obvious conclusion – "therefore, all Democrats are reprobates" – if they ever thought deeply about this, or about anything else in this Age of True Belief.

Over the past several months we have written frequently of the parallels between fascism and Democratic Party/Barack Obama policies. We have noted that fascist movements spring from socialist motives and that fascist governments are characterized in part by state control of industry and the financial system.

Another parallel occurs to us as we ponder the weak, almost nugatory, response to President Obama's efforts to take over the American economy. Where, for example, are the lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of his policies? Where is the outrage among our captains of industry? Indeed, where is the ardency of Republican opposition, which has been lukewarm at best.

More conspiracy, less for you

Peter Lance

Triple Cross

A journalist who has uncovered evidence of al-Qaeda involvement in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and the 1996 crash of TWA Flight 800 has been threatened with a lawsuit by powerful U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald.

Government officials blamed the crash of TWA Flight 800, which killed 230 people, on a mysterious mechanical malfunction, while the Oklahoma City bombing, which killed 168, was quickly labeled the work of domestic “right-wing” terrorists.

Accuracy in Media has long maintained that Clinton Administration officials concealed the truth about both incidents.

But at a news conference at the National Press Club, investigative reporter Peter Lance said that “the greatest mass murder in U.S. history,” the attack on 9/11 which occurred during the administration of President George W. Bush that killed nearly 3,000 Americans, has still not been thoroughly investigated.

A five-time Emmy Award winner formerly with ABC News, Lance is one of the few journalists with mainstream press credentials still raising the hard questions about how al-Qaeda agents were able to prepare terrorist attacks on U.S. soil, even while some of them were under surveillance here and abroad by various U.S. government agencies.

Dubya vs Slick Willie: Tomorrow: Canada: For CASH

Time may heal all wounds, but in politics, the saying often ought to be "Money heals all wounds."

On Friday, former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, who led their opposing parties in the White House for the past 16 years, will appear together in Toronto for what is being billed a "conversation."

No one will say how much each will take home, but estimates run as high as $150,000 apiece for the two-hour appearance. Just to be one of the 6,000 people inside the city's convention center costs $250, with VIP tickets at $625 and the sold-out "emerald" section seating going for $2,500. Front-row ticket holders also get a photo with the two ex-presidents.

From Slick Willie to Slick Barry

Barack Obama and Bill Clinton

Obama, like Clinton, went to college, where they studied nothing practical like chemistry or computer science, but the mush of liberal arts, and then they both went to law school.  Both men married bitter, angry women from Chicago who, like their husbands, went to law school.  These four have spent their entire professional lives in law or in politics.

Watch how "Barry" behaves.  Listen to his words.  Ignore the inflection in his voice, his body language, his facial expressions, the fawning media, and all the distractions of meaning:  listen to his words.  He says nothing, just as Bill Clinton said nothing, and if you aren't really paying attention, it sounds good.

Long before Clinton was president, I introduced him as a speaker at a regional convention in Little Rock.  He knew absolutely nothing about the convention or the organization he was addressing (and I mean nothing.)  Yet Clinton got up, gave an engaging conversational speech, and sat down next to me to loud and sincere applause.  Then-Governor Clinton turned to me and asked "What do we do now?"

Until that morning, I had been a mild a fan of Clinton.  His image was as a genuinely moderate Democrat, chastened by one gubernatorial defeat, who represented a wing of the Democrat Party which was trying to be pragmatic and responsible:  If Clinton could pull Democrats to the center, then good for him. The term "Slick Willie," which I had heard many times, had no clear meaning until I saw a purely political animal, a creature who craved popularity and power for its own sake, someone whose whole life had been immersed in a sort of childlike unreality.

We are finding that President Obama is really "Slick Barry," just as President Clinton was "Slick Willie."  I believe it is a mistake to associate either man with passionate political or ideological beliefs.  These perpetual adolescents believe in their own magic, their ability to charm the other kids who came from nuclear families in middle class neighborhoods, their craving insistence to turn everyone into someone who likes them. It is all about them as they vainly struggle to fill a void in the deepest part of the heart.

It takes a village of idiots

All in all, I'm glad I'm not young anymore. I'm even grateful I'm not raising a youngster. That's because liberals are doing their best to destroy childhood.

I have always found it odd that whenever the producers of TV, movies and music are accused of setting a bad example for the kids, they always insist that their product is simply entertainment and that entertainment in no way influences youthful behavior. If they really believed it, they'd have to be even stupider than they are.

It's not just that they're every bit as aware as the rest of us that advertisers spend billions of dollars a year advertising their merchandise in the media, but additional fortunes are spent on product placement in motion pictures targeted to young people. They also know that advertisers get into bidding wars for the services of a LeBron James.

But the real proof that these people are lying through their teeth when they tell you that the tube lacks the power to influence kids is to be found on their shelves and their walls. All you have to do is check out the various plaques and scrolls with which they adorn their offices. Let a TV show's young star be seen buckling up when he gets in his car, and the producer is sure to be recognized for promoting safe driving. When years ago, the Fonz was shown to have a library card, librarians all over the country saw the number of young readers spike overnight. The producers received a ton of commendations for promoting literacy.

I SAY: If Adolf Hilter had television, where would we be now? Auschwitz-LA, California?

Longing for Slick Willie

Longing for Little Willie
I will admit, I am starting to see Clinton in a new light. Clinton started out like Obama (tax hikes and socialized medicine) but ended up less radical and more mainstream. Of course he was force to obey a Rebublican Congress. I fear Obama will not have the same checks and balances as Slick Willie.

Who won the 2008 election? Why Bill and Hill of course!

Congratulations to Hillary (and Bill) Clinton - who seem to have won the presidential election, despite the official results on Nov. 4. That's certainly a reasonable conclusion, anyway, based on the folks President-elect Obama is eyeing for his administration - folks such as former Clinton officials Eric Holder and Rahm Emanuel and Hillary Clinton herself.  The Clintons have more sequels than the "Star Wars" franchise.

Two Steps Forward, One Step Backward

Two Steps Forward, One Step Backward
If Barack loses it’s been reported he has 5,000 lawyers in the wings waiting to file lawsuits claiming GOP voter fraud. With such high expectations by the Obama crowd, will there be problems after the election if he loses? The National Guard and the military have been put on alert. A former Hillary Clinton supporter and now an alleged whistleblower from the Obama camp says voters shouldn’t believe what the media is telling about how horrible a choice Sarah Palin was. Barack’s advisors do not have.......

Joseph Biden: Liar, cheat, traitor?

                                 Yep!

Joseph Biden: Liar, cheat, traitor?
Joseph Biden is also a traitor. I don't use that word lightly, but Biden has clearly shown by his own words and actions over the decades that he is for a one world government: a one world banking system, one world religion (new age), one military force, world regional government. Joseph Biden by his own words and actions has been a participant in bringing these united States of America into a one world order and for that, he is a traitor.......

The 16-month Hillary-palooza has finally gone bust

The White Male Vote Swung the Democratic Race
The 16-month Hillary-palooza has finally gone bust. Her website bravely instructs us to “Support Senator Obama Today.” Mrs. Clinton’s staff has been pared down to a skeleton crew. And she’s finally getting around to paying off the health insurance bills. But Hillary’s campaign wasn’t a presidential nomination effort in the usual sense. It was a massive exercise in feminist consciousness-raising foisted on an unsuspecting American public......
